It's a day.

More on my vegetable obsession: I was in the supermarket this morning, and I had some change left over from buying bread. I thought “Hey, I’m pregnant and cool. I deserve a treat.” Guess what I bought, out of everything in the entire store? Cabbage.

For the past two days, I’ve woken up STARVING. It’s fully strange. Then if I eat anything substantial, it just comes back up again. So I can’t win, really. I think I’ll try eating a few small things throughout the morning, and see how that goes.

I couldn’t play the Sims this morning! I left my keys at home, so I couldn’t get into my office. I ended up just staying in the car and having a snooze. It did me a world of good, though. This is the most energy I’ve had in months. See? Sleep fixes everything! Well, it fixes fatigue, anyway.

-------------------------------------

I’ve had a bad day at work today. :o(

A certain company was providing us with a product that we needed urgently, but they wanted us to send a cheque through before they sent the product. Fine. We sent the cheque last Friday. But I called them today, and they still hadn’t received it (so they said). My boss told me to be assertive, and to tell them we were going to cancel the order if we hadn’t received the product by tomorrow, regardless of whether they had received the cheque. So, seeing as I am better in written word than I am in spoken word, I sent them a fax.

A man from the company called and said that my fax was rude, and he wanted to speak to the “moron who wants to cancel an order because he couldn’t pay on time”. My boss called him back and, after a few words, and a few “I didn’t send the fax! I haven’t even seen the fax!” comments {which made me extremely nervous}, he cancelled our order (very understandably. The guy was SO rude).

I fully expected my boss to give me a good talking to. I expected to get in trouble big time. He came by after his phone conversation and asked to see the fax that I sent. He read it, and said “There is nothing at all rude about that”, then asked me to cancel the cheque that we’d sent and to find a new company for the job.

Oh my goodness. I was ready to walk out. I was ready to quit my job right then and there. Overreaction? Maybe. But I’m pregnant and hormonal. Give me a break! :o)

Anyway, I am so glad that’s over. Now I’m going to be the best receptionist I can be, in thanks to a boss who took my side and stuck up for me. He’s done it before, too. Once when I made a mistake and unknowingly gave in to a telemarketer (they deliberately made it sound like we were already listed with some business directory, and just needed to authorise our re-listing, which I did. Then they told me we had to pay a fee of about $300, and they started sending us bills), he called them and got angry at them for taking advantage of me and not telling me the whole story. He stuck up for me big time, and made them back off.

So although he sometimes criticises me for not being assertive enough, and sometimes wants me to do things at the last possible moment, I still thank God for him. When it comes down to it, he really is an awesome boss.
